where we coexist with the nature into our unique contemporary immersive dining.
In a world where life can get demanding and tiresome,
we hope that our offerings can become gifts that heal and provide a respite.
We focus on what we do best,
and realize it in ways relevant and desirable to today’s world.
We take a unique local food culture imbue it with the spirit
and strength of Jeju and its Haenyeo, and present it as a story of coexistence.
In our theatrical dining productions, the Haenyeo community and young artists
join hands to continue the local food culture to span generations.

OriginThe Haenyeo spirit that gave
strength to Jeju familiesThe haenyeo who appear in the stories told in Haenyeo’s Kitchen each have different stories.
They all have a personal history of raising someone other than themselves.
The food fetched from the ocean by those who raised their children and siblings with it contains dense emotions of life.
Realizing this has allowed the Haenyeo’s Kitchen team to get closer to the spirit of Haenyeo.
The essence of our production lies in our reverence to the spirit of Haenyeo who harvests from the ocean as far as her breath can reach.
The ocean is her kitchen where she has been making food not for herself but for her family.
We are here to share that story. -

We have always believed that art has the power to change the world.
And we wanted to harness the unique artistic capabilities of our own and connect it to the lives of Haenyeo.
“Haenyeo’s Kitchen” endeavors to revitalize the gradually-disappearing Haenyeo community through engagement with young artists and to create a culture of coexistence to span generations.
We will bring the tales of Jeju's sea and Haenyeo to wherever our stories will have an audience.
We hope that the sound of Jeju's waves can be heard at the tables of people around the world. -

“Haenyeo’s Kitchen” is a place where young artists in the 20s and senior Haenyeos in their 90s come together.
We acknowledge and care for each other's differences
and build the future ocean through engagement and communication.
We respect the ‘haenyeo’ as they are and bring their stories to the stage.
We provide local jobs that connect generations to improve the lives of the Haenyeo community.
In collaboration with the local fishing co-operatives,
we also breathe new life into idle spaces in the Haenyeo community.

over a long period of time was disappearing,
and decided to continue the Jeju Haenyeo culture in ways we knew how.
We mine what our contemporaries can learn from the Haenyeo culture and convey this
in artistically inspired ways that the audiences of the world today can appreciate.
